Job Description

This vacancy has now expired.

NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service.

The Finance Information Technology (FIT) Division designs, builds, and supports all facets of DOF’s computer systems, including hardware, software, applications, infrastructure, telephone, and data security. FIT delivers and administers tax-related payment programs for the City of New York by providing the information technology solutions needed to achieve its mission of collecting revenue while ensuring an efficient and improved customer experience. FIT is also responsible for the systems and websites which enable citywide payments, land records, property assessment, parking adjudications, customer service, and the Sheriff’s public safety work.

The division is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to serve as a Website Content Graduate Intern, who will contribute to the management and enhancement of our agency website, which attracts over 800,000 visitors each month. As one of the most visited municipal websites in the nation, the Department of Finance website plays a critical role in supporting the collection of over $50 billion in annual NYC revenue. This internship offers a unique chance to make a meaningful impact while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the migration of content from our current website into a new Content Management System (CMS), Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). The ideal candidate will ensure content is audited, accurately and efficiently transferred, maintain website consistency, and adheres to branding and accessibility standards. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in website management and content strategy while working with cutting-edge CMS technology.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Audit all web pages to gain full accounting of all current content for migration to new CMS.
- Transfer website content from the current system to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and organize content migration tasks.
- Ensure that all content aligns with organizational branding and design standards.
- Test migrated pages for functionality, layout, and accessibility compliance (e.g., WCAG standards).
- Assist in identifying and resolving issues related to broken links, missing assets, or other content discrepancies.
- Optimize content for usability, readability, and SEO.
- Provide regular updates to the project team on the progress and status of content migration.
- Support training efforts by documenting processes and providing assistance to team members unfamiliar with AEM.
