Position Summary
TRS is seeking a dynamic Video Content Creator College Aide who will help the Office of Communications build a library of short educational videos for TRS’ members. You will work with our Digital Communications and Member Education teams on videos that aid website navigation, assist with troubleshooting, and answer common benefits-related questions. You will work with in-house subject matter experts and use your experience in video tools (such as Canva, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Premiere Pro, Microsoft Clipchamp) to create appealing, understandable video content for our membership of working and retired educators.
Responsibilities
- Create captivating video content based on topics or scripts, utilizing the best tools to bring them to life while ensuring accessibility standards are flawlessly met.
- Obtain feedback from key stakeholders and adjust content as needed.
- Interview internal subject matter experts to identify additional topics for videos; develop scripts, storyboards, or proposal videos.
- Assist with Member Education efforts and other digital communications and social media projects.
Preferred Skills in Addition to Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in a field related to media/communications or instructional design.
- Experience developing, designing, and implementing video content for business purposes.
- Experience with a variety of video tools including but not limited to Canva, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Premiere Pro, Microsoft Clipchamp.
- Visual creativity and verbal articulateness; attention to detail.

Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.
For Assignment Level II (Information Technology):
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.
For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow):
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. Appointments to this Assignment Level will be made by the Technology Steering Committee through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
SPECIAL NOTE
Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years. No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session. Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.
