NOTE: NYCHA's Asset and Capital Management Division has two central work locations: one in Manhattan (WTC area) and one in Queens (LIC). This position will be assigned to both locations.

NYCHA’s Asset & Capital Management (A&CM) Division leads the Authority’s capital, sustainability and resiliency programs that comprise a $5 billion capital projects portfolio – one of the largest in NY State – as well as a range of activities related to property modernization and strategic asset management. A&CM aims to preserve and modernize NYCHA buildings and apartments through strategic portfolio planning, comprehensive design standards, innovative financing and project delivery models, strong partnership with NYCHA residents and other stakeholders, and effective program and project management of capital investments. The Division also positions NYCHA’s housing portfolio for the future by piloting and scaling-up sustainability and resiliency technologies and practices, improving residents’ quality of life while enhancing building performance.

Position Description

The Office of the Chief Asset & Capital Management Officer (CACMO Office) is seeking to hire a Training Program Coordinator. Reporting to the PMO & Change Management Lead under general direction and with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment, the Training Program Coordinator will provide technical assistance and training to staff on project implementation and management, community engagement practices, and a range of professional competencies and skills.

Core responsibilities will include the following:

1. Provide technical assistance and training to subordinate staff in techniques of program implementation and management. Training may include:
- Advancing communication skills to establish and enhance a working relationship with NYCHA resident leaderships on capital projects community programs at assigned developments.
- Building, maintaining, and strengthening relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across an assigned portfolio of NYCHA properties.
- Facilitating learning, with a particularly focus on community development, that teach A&CM staff to provide residents with a holistic view of projects within their development.
2. Make recommendations on policies and procedures.
3. Coordinate the development of or directly develop training materials in various formats (e.g. PowerPoint, video, interactive graphics and online modules).
4. Prepare evaluation reports, performs analyses, reviews program plans and performance.

1. Exemplary Communication and Community Development Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across diverse backgrounds. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

2. Training Development, Delivery & Management Expertise: Proven track record in developing interactive training content and facilitating engaging trainings for diverse audiences. Demonstrated experience managing complex training administration and logistics, across a variety of different training levels, types, and durations.

3. Effective Project Manager & Change Agent: A strategic thinker and structured problem-solver, able to drive change and innovation while effectively juggling diverse responsibilities and multiple, competing priorities. Demonstrated record of facilitating organizational initiatives with a focus on project management, stakeholder buy-in, cross-functional teaming, community development, and change management.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
