RICHMOND COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY
The men and women of the Richmond County District Attorney’s office work each day in partnership with Law Enforcement and the people of Staten Island to pursue justice for victims of crime, to prevent crime in all its forms, and to promote the safety and well-being of all citizens of our Borough.

THE ROLE
The Richmond County District Attorney (RCDA) is seeking multiple Technical Response Technician professionals, responsible for providing support to Assistant District Attorneys investigating homicides, serious felonies, and other crimes. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

- Respond to scenes of emergencies ex: Crime scenes, Hospitals, Precincts
- Record and preserve on video crime scenes and statements by defendants and witnesses for use as evidence in court
- Retrieve surveillance footage to preserve and maintain for use as evidence during trial and discovery purposes
- Installation of Covert Cameras and utilization of bucket operations and maintenance
- May have to testify in a Court Room regarding evidence recovered during the performance of your duties and responsibilities.
- Prepare weekly reports regarding camera/video operations and covert operations
- Communicate with outside vendors regarding upgrading software and equipment
- Have knowledge/familiarity in Sytech
- Have knowledge/familiarity in Grey Key & Cellebrite.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.

PREFERRED SKILLS
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize workloads
- Able to carry equipment that weighs up to 50 lbs.
- Advanced technical skills in; Video and Photo Editing, Video Playback, Disc Duplication, File Conversion, MS Office, Surveillance Footage Retrieval and Sytech wiretap system a plus.
- Flexible schedule, including possibility of nights, weekends, holidays and as needed in emergency situations
- A valid New York State driver’s license with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience is preferred. This license must be maintained for the duration of your employment.

LOAN FORGIVENESS:
The federal government provides student loans forgiveness through its Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PLF) to all qualifying public service employees. Working with the Staten Island District Attorney’s Office qualifies you as a public service employee, which forgives the remaining balance on your direct loans after you’ve reached a certain number of qualifying payments (most people use this to forgive school loans)!

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
