The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) is the largest Fire Department in the United States and universally is recognized as the world's busiest and most highly skilled emergency response agency. The Department's main goal is to provide fire protection, emergency medical care, and other critical public safety services to residents and visitors in the five boroughs. FDNY members are sworn to serve and protect life and property and the Department works to continually educate the public in fire, life safety and disaster preparedness, along with enforcing public safety codes. Since its inception in 1865, FDNY has helped lead efforts to make New York the safest big city in the nation. This accomplishment requires a steadfast and daily commitment to maintaining the Department's core values.

The Fire Department, City of New York (FDNY), seeks a full-time Technical Operations Supervisor in the Bureau of Technology Development and Systems. Reporting directly to the Manager, Data Center Operations, the successful candidate will: supervise a group of technicians in various assigned task including: Security (Anti-Virus, System Updates), switch and router configuration), CAD Systems (Computer Aided Dispatch), Server Technologies (Windows VMware Etc.), Oracle (Linux administration), and Desktop Support (help manage desktop computers and VDI systems) and with wide array of computer and network skills; create work schedules and closely manage all work being done in the department; work with Help Desk systems including ServiceNow and possess a working knowledge of escalation plans, risk management best practices, and the change management process.

Special Working Conditions: May be required to work shifts including nights, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.


Minimum Qualifications

1. A certificate from an accredited technical school (approximately 675 hours) with a specialization in computer operations, and two years of satisfactory full-time computer operations experience, in a large-scale networked, multi- tiered, or mainframe computer environment, or two years of satisfactory data communications network experience working in a mainframe or multi-tiered computer environment; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years of satisfactory full-time experience as described in "1" above; or

3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory full-time experience as described
in "1" above; or

4. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2",or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least two years of full-time experience as described in "1" above
