The Supervisor Plumber is responsible for filing all new work applications, permits, limited alteration applications, post approval amendments, and emergency work notices with regulatory agencies; to directly request periodic performance tests with the FDNY; to directly supervise and coordinate all plumbers and helpers in the Fire Safety Department; abate emergencies and schedule inspection, testing, maintenance, repairs, replacements, modifications, and installations of fire protection systems throughout NYCHA properties; provide technical assistance.

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to the following:

- File all new work applications, permits, limited alteration applications, post approval amendments, and emergency work notices with regulatory agencies
- Request, oversee, conduct, and witness initial and recurring acceptance and performance tests with DOB, FDNY, and other regulatory agencies
- Create, review, and track work orders and create material orders.
- Perform quality control inspection of shops and work sites; train staff.
- Conduct field inspections.
- Oversee scheduled and off-line appointments to ensure court cases, violations, routine tickets, and fire jobs are addressed in a timely manner.
- Estimate job requirements and specifications; perform field surveys and work with NYCHA departments and developments to abate emergencies and review plan specifications.
- Review blueprints; attend pre-bid and pre-design meetings for contract work; inspect contract work.
- Provide guidance and direct oversight of trades in conducting permitted work.
- Maintain tool, equipment, and vehicle accountability.
- Perform administrative duties.

1. A valid NYC Master Plumber License as defined in 28-410.1 of the NYC Administrative Code.
2. A valid driver's license.

SUPERVISOR PLUMBER - 91972

1. Seven (7) years of recent, satisfactory, full-time, paid experience as a plumber, at least two (2) years of which must have been spent in duties of a supervisory nature; or
2. A satisfactory equivalent.

This position requires: 1. A valid NYC Master Plumber License as defined in 28-410.1 of the NYC Administrative Code. 2. A valid driver's license. Preferred skills: - Advanced knowledge of the NYC Plumbing, Building, and Fire Codes and Rules of the FDNY - Experience with fire standpipes, fire sprinkler, and underground water distribution systems - Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings - Ability to create and/or modify architectural and engineering drawings using AutoCAD software - Currently hold or able to obtain a NYC Master Fire Suppression Contractor license A or B - Ability to conduct basic plumbing calculations
