In order to be considered for this position candidate must be either serving permanently in the title of Supervisor of Stock Workers or, have successfully passed and be reachable on the recent Promotion Supervisor of Stock Workers Exam #4106, and provide proof of filing, or be eligible under the 55a program.


The Parking Facilities and Capital Projects Group of Parking Operations, ensures the most efficient use of the City's parking assets. The Group oversees the installation and maintenance of parking meter bases and signs, operates and maintains off-street parking facilities. We are seeking to hire a capable, confident and dedicated Supervisor of Stock Workers L3 to oversee the stockroom to maintain a level of inventory, manage the well planned and timely procurement and delivery of materials, equipment and tools to support the field operations of the Group. Typical tasks will include but are not limited to: Effective material planning; monitoring receipts, classification, storage, care, distribution, requisitioning and inventory of materials, tools, supplies and equipment; supervise and/or assist in the receiving process to ensure all goods (including hazardous materials) are stored properly and delivered promptly to the user with Material Safety Data Sheet as applicable. Manage the Universal Waste Room and comply with state rules and regulations. Inspect all incoming shipments to ensure requested quantity is received in good condition; contact vendors regarding supplies, shipments, shortages, etc.; prepare reports, keep accurate records of receipts and issues. Prepare lists of surpluses, obsolescent materials and arrange for transfer or disposition, take the necessary precautions to protect stock from deterioration or spoilage. Supervise stock workers and assist in the loading, unloading and dispatching of trucks; participate in the loading and unloading of goods at the storehouse or at the point of pickup, delivery or distribution; operate equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, to perform loading and unloading; Proactively conduct market research for upgrading equipment, quality materials and cost saving methodology. Keep accurate records using a Computerized WASP system or a similar system to prepare annual and semi-annual inventory reports including chemical inventory. Maintain various operational logs, CityTime Production, monitor employee absence and lateness controls, and manage any disciplinary issues. Supervise and assign work to subordinates.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of full-time satisfactory experience performing storekeeping activities, at least one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.


Preferred Skills

Possess/willing to acquire and maintain relevant certifications: (1) operate forklift, pallet truck and other similar equipment (2) NYS Driver’s License.
