Traffic Control & Engineering is responsible for administration, engineering and operations related to the installation, manufacturing, maintenance and removal of signs, flexible bollards, moveable barriers, in-house traffic sign production and other traffic control devices. The office draws on the expertise and talents of engineers, sign designers, planners, inspectors, IT experts, analysts, and others to help the agency achieve Vision Zero and other city goals.

Traffic Control & Engineering (TCE) is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Supervisor of Maspeth Warehouse Operations (Supervisor of Traffic Device Maintainers Level I). As Supervisor, the selected candidate will oversee the comprehensive management of both the Maspeth Central Warehouse and the Sign Warehouse. The Supervisor of Maspeth Warehouse will lead a team of five Traffic Device Maintainers, guiding and coordinating their efforts in the preparation, installation, and maintenance of traffic control devices, as well as the manufacture and repair of these devices. This role will: oversee the distribution of traffic signs to TCE field operations and other DOT divisions; ensure the fulfillment and quality control of sign requisitions; manage incoming deliveries and the storage of TCE assets within Maspeth, the borough sign shops, and several off-street DOT storage lots; administer, direct, and oversee the day-to-day operations related to warehousing, production, installation, repair, and maintenance of traffic control devices, including traffic signs, supports, and structures; supervision of staff performing routine and annual audits of TCE assets to ensure accountability is included in this role. Additional duties include a range of administrative duties such as maintaining an inventory control system, managing absence control calendars, evaluating staff performance, recommending procedural enhancements, and participating in organizational meetings. The candidate will assist in providing support to the TPM planning groups for special assignments, such as the distribution and layout of work zone assets for Street Improvement Projects ensuring physical upkeep of work locations and warehouse areas and uphold strict compliance with all agency safety protocols. Minimum Qualifications

Qualification Requirements
1. At least two years of experience as a Traffic Device Maintainer working for the NYC Department of Transportation; or

2. Three years of recent, satisfactory, full-time experience maintaining, servicing and repairing mechanical equipment or experience of a nature similar to the duties described above, at least one year of which must have been in a supervisory
capacity.

License Requirement
At the time of appointment, all candidates must possess a motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York. This license must be maintained for the duration of employment.

For appointment to certain positions, a Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) valid in the State of New York, with no restrictions, is required. This license must be maintained for the duration of employment.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
