JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Campus Maintenance Section plays a critical role in keeping Department Facilities operating safe for staff and visitors as it oversees the maintenance for over 250 Department Facilities Citywide. CMS manages multiple facility renovations that support Department initiatives and unit relocations. CMS is comprised of uniform, civilian trades, professional and administrative staff.

The Deputy Commissioner Management & Budget, Campus Management Section seeks qualified candidates for Stationary Engineer.

The selected candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining and adjusting boilers, furnaces, engines, pumps, heat exchangers, generators, motors, chillers, cooling towers, equipment for heating, ventilating, air conditioning, lighting and associated equipment in public buildings, municipal pumping stations and incinerators. Making periodic inspections of equipment and minor repairs to such equipment. Taking responsible charge of a watch, and while so engaged being responsible for and directing subordinate personnel. In addition to performing preventive maintenance.

A valid license for High Pressure Boiler Operating Engineer issued by the New York City Department of Buildings is required. This license must be maintained for the duration of employment.
