*THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $84,451.00 - $92,897.00*
The Audit Department within DFS, oversees and monitors the financial health of contracted provider agencies and monitors and identifies areas of financial risk. This includes preparing year-end reconciliations for each provider, reviewing annual provider financial audits, and monitoring provider agency corrective action plans, annual closeout reconciliations/appeals and oversight of the DOE audit of CCBG funded Early Learn contractors, Social Security Benefits Unit (SSBU) Banking, Fiscal Field Review (FFR)/Risk Management units, Child Welfare Contract Audits (CWCA), managing Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Retirement, Survivors and Disabilities Insurance (RSDI) payments on behalf of children in foster care, all ACS Banking and cash transactions.
The successful candidate will Report to the Assistant Commissioner of Audit and Banking the Special Project Coordinator will provide the unit with monitoring, tracking and quality control of information compiled from the audited financial statements submitted by ACS contracted service providers and assistance with managing implementation of unit’s initiatives. The Special Projects Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Executive Director and the three program Directors with the Unit.
Special Project Coordinator’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Monitor, track and quality control of information compiled from the annual audited financial statements submitted by ACS contracted service providers
-Maintain meta data from audited financial statements in an easily accessible data base format
-Organize and prepare audit review data sets for analysis including the production of Provider Fiscal Profiles
-Develop and maintain data set from audit review information to support contract closeout and expense reconciliation
-Oversee production and quality control of monthly statistical report
-Serve as a representative of the Assistant Commissioner and Executive Director/or senior divisional staff at internal and external meetings as needed; and,
-Represent agency and division at multi-agency meetings and presentations
1. A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field, and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area. 18 months of this experience must have been in an executive, managerial, administrative or supervisory capacity. Supervision must have included supervising staff performing professional work in the areas described above; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of professional experience in the areas described in "1" above, including the 18 months of executive, managerial, administrative or supervisory experience, as described in "1" above.
- Impeccable organizational and analytical skills. - Must be skilled in fundamental accounting practices & adept at analyzing large volumes of data. - Evaluating figures, accounts, and financial statements alongside other auditing consultants and financial services staff. - Compiling and presenting findings in written and verbal forms to senior members of the financial services team. - Recommending and advising on subsequent actions and processes to be undertaken as related to - Ability to work in a team environment. - Proficient at detailed report writing and presentation.
