Under NYC Parks’ Communications office, the Digital Media division develops the official Parks website, custom content management systems, partner websites, and the agency's email newsletter system. As part of this work, the Digital team is responsible for designing and building custom web applications for high-profile public-facing Mayoral, City Council, and agency projects. You will be joining a small agile team of developers and designers and working closely with content producers to support the creation of compelling and dynamic web experiences for over 8 million unique visitors to the Parks website each year, as well as critical content management systems used daily by hundreds of staff and partners.

Major Responsibilities
- Under direction, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, coordinate multiple web application development projects of var-ying scale and complexity.
- Formally intake and document new project requests, change requests, and user-reported system bugs, by using project and task management tools.
- Work with project stakeholders, technical staff, and management to interpret goals, analyze business processes and devel-op detailed project requirements.
- Identify project obstacles, suggest solutions and establish consensus to continually move projects to completion.
- Collaborate with management to determine project priorities and schedules.
- Organize project tasks and issues and keep them up to date to help manage both internal and stakeholder expectations.
- Provide quality assurance for projects and system support, including internal testing, draft user guides, user acceptance testing,
training, as well as basic system administration and troubleshooting.
- Administer and utilize Digital Media’s content management systems to make and facilitate updates to the Parks website and web
applications.
- Collaborate with various City agencies and vendors to ensure timely task completion and overall project success.
- Assist in managing project budgets and contracts and participate in the procurement process.

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
2. An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
3. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
4. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above.
1. Experience managing public-facing web application projects. 2. Familiarity with web design, web technologies, usability standards and their practical application. 3. Strong background in requirements gathering and documentation, user story and issue tracking using systems such as Jira, Trello and Confluence. 4. Excellent writing, analytical, organizational, communication and time management skills. 5. Experience coordinating internal system testing and user acceptance testing. 6. Certification in project management (PMP, Agile Scrum, etc.).
