The Team You’ll Work With:

The NYC Mayor’s Office of Equity & Racial Justice (MOERJ) was established in October 2023 and serves as New York City government’s centralized equity office. Focusing on developing critical, equity-driven strategies across our diverse communities, MOERJ includes the Commission on Gender Equity (CGE), the Young Men’s Initiative (YMI), and the NYC Unity Project (UP) as well as multi-agency bodies like the Pay Equity Cabinet (PEC) and the Taskforce on Racial Inclusion & Equity (TRIE).

The NYC Unity Project, a division of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Equity and Racial Justice (MOERJ), works across city agencies to uplift, engage, and better serve New York City’s diverse Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ+) community, leading centralized outreach, engagement, and strategic programming.

The Unity Project works with agency partners (e.g., Department of Health and Mental Hygiene or Department of Youth and Community Development) to develop innovative programs, including establishing budgets, scopes of work, requests for proposals, outcome metrics, tracking systems, marketing, and implementation strategy. These programs are implemented in-community through contracted community-based organizations.

The Unity Project coordinates City agencies to collaborate on programs, information-sharing, and engagements to serve the LGBTQ+ community and educates both internally and externally on LGBTQ+ cultural competency and Unity Project programming and services.

The Problems You’ll Solve:

The Senior Program Manager will work closely with the Director to oversee a portfolio of unique and innovative programs. Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Executive Support:

Serve as the key point of contact for the Director, providing comprehensive administrative and managerial support. Coordinate meetings, liaise with external partners, lead interagency
convenings, and contribute to strategic planning and the development of new programs, practices, policies, and communications. Additionally, create marketing materials and spearhead
internal and external community engagement.

- Program Management:

o Collaborative Program Development: Actively engage with city agency liaisons to develop and design innovative programs and initiatives.
o Comprehensive Program Oversight: Manage the entire program lifecycle, from concept development and budget planning to scope of work, procurement, implementation, and evaluation.
o Partner Coordination: Foster strong working relationships with agency partners, providing support with partner engagement, budget adjustments, and addressing complex challenges.
o Milestone Tracking: Ensure that all parties are on track to meet critical program milestones, effectively managing the implementation process across partners.

- Grant Administration:

Work with agency partners to develop and oversee a Grant program, including concept development, budgeting, procurement, and scope of work. Oversee the entire grant lifecycle, from
application review and selection to disbursement and monitoring. Foster strong working relationships with grant recipients, including documentation, partnerships, and marketing. Develop and
implement evaluation frameworks to measure the impact of grant-funded projects and generate comprehensive reports.

- Interagency Coordination and Convenings:

Facilitate collaboration and knowledge-sharing among city agencies to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services to the LGBTQ+ community. Convene regular meetings to discuss
emerging issues, share best practices, and coordinate responses to community needs.

- Community Engagement:

Establish strong relationships with community-based partners, working regularly with the Mayor’s Community Affairs unit, and other City Agencies, to build authentic connections with diverse
providers, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders serving the LGBTQ+ community.

- Information Sharing:

Manage marketing and promotion of Unity Project programs and initiatives, including regularly updating the UP websites, social media, collateral, and other content to provide accurate and
timely information to New Yorkers.

- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

About You:

experience.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with considerable independence and entrepreneurial skill; problem solver with strong organizational skills and attention to detail; exceptional written and
