Major Responsibilities

- Reporting to the Chief of Strategic Initiatives, and with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment, collect and analyze data, produce reports, and prepare and deliver presentations for high profile projects and strategic initiatives.
- Work with senior management to analyze trends and identify key opportunities for improvement in the capital process.
- Work with Agency staff to ensure accurate data is entered into Unifier, the division’s project management software, and manage content for the NYC Parks’ Capital Project Tracker. Answer questions and help resolve issues.
- Work with computer programming staff to map out new and updated business process workflows and data entry requirements for Unifier.
- Maintain the Capital Division’s library of standard operating procedures (SOPs). Work with staff to develop and author new SOPs and associated training materials as needed.
- Serve as a liaison to other divisions within Parks and represent the Agency at meetings with other City agencies and organizations.
- Assist with other related tasks and special assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.


Preferred Skills

1. Experience working with large, complex data sets. 2. Advanced Microsoft Office skills and demonstrated advanced use of excel. 3. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, customer service, conflict resolution, writing and presentation skills. 4. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. 5. Interest in understanding current workflows and being an integral part of streamlining processes, and guiding changes to the technical systems to support them. 6. Valid New York State driver license.

Residency Requirement

Residency in New York City, Nassau, Orange, Rockland, Suffolk, Putnam or Westchester counties required for employees with over two years of city service. New York City residency required within 90 days of hire for all other candidates.
