We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer that will be responsible for the day-to-day operational support of DOB’s corporate network infrastructure and will oversee the monitoring, changes in configuration and issue resolution of the overall corporate network. The role requires specialized knowledge of end-to-end network operations, policy and process with the ultimate goal of providing consistent and quality infrastructure stability and efficiency. The successful candidate will bring extensive knowledge of network infrastructure and server technology and proactively plan ahead to identify and mitigate issues before they start. They will apply all available tools to reach six sigma operational performances. The position also requires hands-on troubleshooting work on all network infrastructure related matters.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise and platform leadership in areas of Cisco WAN, LAN, VoIP, VPN, and WLAN technologies.
- Coordinate network operation activities to configure, implement, maintain and troubleshoot Cisco Hardware/Software Products.
- Act as technical resource in response to outages, network issues and various support tasks.
- Proactively manage the availability, service and security requirements of all DOB network infrastructures.
- Assist in the management of other data, server and security systems as dictated by the environment.
- Work with infrastructure support personnel to resolve customer service tickets within SLA guidelines and department standards.
- Work closely with OTI in regard to DOB’s WAN, VOIP and sever technology to resolve all network related problems to resolution.
- Deploy and maintain of network monitoring, analysis and reporting tools.
- Coordinate of network hardware and software.
- Create of MOP/SOP and planning Change management process.
- Conduct performance tuning of network devices and creation of SOP.
- Plan and upgrade network and security devices.
- Work with Hardware/Software Vendors to resolve problems.
- Provide overview and guidance to DOB units for the scheduling and performance of network maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Act as an SME SPOC for certain Network products.

COMPUTER ASSOC (OPERATIONS) - 13621
1. A certificate from an accredited technical school (approximately 675 hours) with a specialization in computer operations, and two years of satisfactory full-time computer operations experience, in a large-scale networked, multi- tiered, or mainframe computer environment, or two years of satisfactory data communications network experience working in a mainframe or multi-tiered computer environment; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years of satisfactory full-time experience as described in "1" above; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory full-time experience as described
in "1" above; or
4. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2",or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least two years of full-time experience as described in "1" above
Previous experience with designing and implementing large-scale networks, network routing, switches, Data Center Design, and cloud-related networking and security technologies is required for this position. - Strong Cisco routing/switching/security skills (CCNALevel) - Very strong communication skills - 3+ years of experience, preferably some with large enterprise - Network Virtualization – NSX, VXLAN, SVI - Strong Familiarity with Cisco DNA policy model and networking concepts. Production deployment experience a plus. - Data Center Virtualization - Server Access Networking - Unicast Routing Protocols – EIGRP, BGP, OSPF - Data Center Interconnect strategy - Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, NXOS - Cisco Nexus configuration and design - Authentication solutions including Microsoft LDAP/TACACS+ - Familiarity with Multicast PIM Sparse/Dense, MSDP - Quality of Service understanding and configuration - Network Monitoring using Cisco DNA and SolarWinds - Proficient or familiar with automation or scripting (any of the following: Python, Ruby, Ansible)
