Job Description

The Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) advises the Mayor of the City of New York on criminal justice policy. MOCJ develops and implements strategies, with partners inside and outside government, to reduce crime and incarceration and to promote fairness and legitimacy. MOCJ works with law enforcement, city agencies, non-profits, foundations, and others to implement data-driven strategies that address current crime conditions, prevent offending, and build strong neighborhoods that ensure enduring safety.

The Mayor's Office of Special Enforcement (OSE) is an innovative, solutions-oriented task force that ensures NYC communities are safe from harmful illegal and unregulated industries that one agency and one set of enforcement tools alone cannot address. Our multi-agency enforcement team devises strategic solutions ranging from public education to enforcement action to complex problems.

About the Role:
OSE is seeking a Senior Communications Manager to further the office’s public information and communications mission. Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director and supported by MOCJ’s Chief of Public Affairs, the final candidate will assist in day-to-day communication operations, including:
- Press Relations + Publicity: generate media interest, write press releases, and media alerts.
- Content Creation: Craft compelling and strategic editorial and graphical content across various platforms.
- Social Media Management: Strategize, implement, and oversee social media campaigns across multiple platforms.
- Marketing Campaigns: Development of integrated campaigns that align with overarching communication goals. Project manage integrated marketing campaigns from inception to execution.
- Reporting: Produce both quantitative and qualitative reports to measure communication effectiveness.
