The Team You’ll Work With:
The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Operations (DMO) works to advance the City's efforts to address policy matters across the five boroughs, coordinate operational efforts across the City's public agencies, improve access to services for all New Yorkers, and ensure agencies are run compassionately and effectively. The Deputy Mayor oversees 8 city agencies and 1 mayoral office: DOT, DEP, DSNY, DOB, DDC, SCA, Parks, TLC, and the Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice.
The Problems You’ll Solve:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the DMO and the Office of Technology and Innovation, the Mayor’s Office of Data Analytics, and the Mayor’s Office of Operations.
- Lead special projects and strategic planning related to tech innovation, digital service delivery, and improved tech operations.
- Support OTI, MODA, and the Ops on City Hall approvals, recommendations, and decision-making.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders in the tech and innovation space.
- Monitor best practices, latest trends, and make policy recommendations on high-profile tech sector issues (drones, AI, app-delivery, etc.).
- Coordinate the DM’s briefings, prep materials, and calendaring as appropriate and support DMO staff members as needed.
- Participate in internal and external meetings with or on behalf of the Deputy Mayor to ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Develop and facilitate systems and processes for City Hall coordination.
- Coordinate across Deputy Mayor teams.

- You have business operations, process design, and project management experience.
- You have the ability to operate independently with excellent time management skills and confirmed ability to deliver on multiple, competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- You have the ability to effectively interact with people and partners across all levels within an organization.
- You have proven ability to follow through on complex projects from ideas to implementation.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and compelling presentations for an array of audiences.

1. Do you have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university?
2. Do you have an associate degree from an accredited college or university along with two (2) years of experience with administrative, analytic, coordinative, supervisory or liaison responsibilities?
3. Do you have a four-year high school diploma, or its educational equivalent approved by a state's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization along with four (4) years of experience as described in question "2" above?
4. Do you have a satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to that described in questions "1," "2," and/or "3" above?
- You have experience working in government, prior experience with technology, and processes. - You have the ability to support the creation of new policies and programs that advance the Administration’s priorities. - You have the ability to advise senior leaders on the latest trends related to technology infrastructure, AI, and digital transformation. - You have a significant track record of operational experience and execution under tight deadlines. - You have the ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language. - You are highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail. - You have extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. - You have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
