Job Description

The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the nation’s largest public housing authority, with an operating budget of $3.3 billion and over 11,000 employees who manage and maintain 328 developments that house over 420,000 residents. NYCHA also operates the country’s largest Section 8 program, which provides rental assistance to over 200,000 additional families.

Reporting to the Fire Safety Director and providing administrative support to the unit, duties shall include but are not limited to the following:

- Responsible for staff timekeeping.
- Process work tickets utilizing Maximo (web-based system)
- Process invoices and releases.
- Maintain contract documents.
- Maintain FDNY test Data.
- Assist in obtaining documents as needed for violation compliance.
- Prepare reports, memos letters, and other documents.
- Act as a liaison with developments and/or vendors.
- Perform other related duties.

NOTES:
1. Due to the existence of a civil service list, candidates must have permanent civil service status in the title of Secretary or Clerical to be considered.
2. This vacancy is for a title which is normally filled through the Automated Transfer List System (ATLS). However, employees applying to this location via the Automated Transfer List System

Minimum Qualifications

A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization?

Skills Requirement: You will be required to meet the typing skills requirement by demonstrating the ability to type accurately on a personal computer at a minimum speed of 35 words per minute after errors are deducted. You must meet this requirement in order to be appointed.


Preferred Skills

1. Experience with providing administrative support. Office management a plus. 2. Excellent verbal and communication skills strategic thinker with the ability to take initiative. 3. Good organizational and analytical skills. 4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Power-point Kronos and Maximo. 5. Ability to work independently
