Job Description

Under supervision of the Housing Manager, Assistant Housing Manager and NYCHA’s Leased Housing Department (LHD) policies and procedures, the secretary will work with the LHD-Bronx Client Services team to assist with:
- Timekeeping
- Data entry and document processing
- Processing of incoming mail
- Filing, preparing, processing, purging, shredding documents
- Supply ordering and distribution
- General office duties
- Processing responses to inquiries from NYCHA Leased Housing Department Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) participants, landlords, public housing agencies, elected officials, advocacy groups.
- Special projects
- Other duties as assigned
NOTE: Preference will be given to CIVIL SERVICE BRDIGE EXAM# 3131 takers.

A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization?
Skills Requirement: You will be required to meet the typing skills requirement by demonstrating the ability to type accurately on a personal computer at a minimum speed of 35 words per minute after errors are deducted. You must meet this requirement in order to be appointed.
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 3. Knowledge of the Siebel System.
