New York City is home to approximately 1.7 million older adults, and the Department for the Aging (NYC Aging) is committed to helping them age in their homes and communities. The mission of NYC Aging is to eliminate ageism and ensure the dignity and quality of life of diverse older adults. The NYC Aging also works to support caregivers through service, advocacy, and education.

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) develops innovative and responsive solutions for NYC Aging's internal and external needs, and provide quality assurance for OIT projects and services. OIT enables NYC Aging staff to communicate, collaborate and automate routine tasks, and generally provide teams with the functionality they need to perform their duties through the support of its network infrastructure. OIT's technology responsibilities include policy formation, inter-agency coordination, IT project oversight, information security, technology service delivery, and advocacy. The unit also administers network and data security, databases and network infrastructure, and provides application development and internal help desk support.

NYC Aging is seeking a full-time highly technical Salesforce developer/administrator to support/develop applications hosted on the Salesforce platform, and to make recommendations and implement best practices for Salesforce development, management, and administration. The successful candidate will:

- Develop customized solutions within the Salesforce platform using Apex, Visualforce, and other programming languages.

- Create workflows, process builders, and other automation tools to streamline business processes within Salesforce.

- Configure and maintain Salesforce objects, fields, record types, page layouts, and other settings to meet business needs.

- Create and maintain user accounts, profiles, roles, and permission sets to ensure proper access control.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Salesforce application performance, integration, and data integrity.

- Collaborate with other developers, administrators, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and develop solutions.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest Salesforce features and technologies and recommending new solutions to enhance business processes and efficiency.


Minimum Qualifications

1. A master's degree in computer science from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience in Information Technology (IT) including applications development, systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing, or user services. At least eighteen (18) months of this experience must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity in the areas of applications development, systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing or in the supervision of staff performing these duties; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience as described in "1" above; or

3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and six (6) years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience as described in "1" above; or

4. A satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to "1", "2" or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and must possess at least three (3) years of experience as described in "1" above, including the eighteen (18) months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described in "1" above.

In the absence of a baccalaureate degree, undergraduate credits may be substituted for a maximum of two (2) years of the required experience in IT on the basis of 30 semester credits for six (6) months of the required experience. Graduate credits in computer science may be substituted for a maximum of one (1) year of the required experience in IT on the basis of 30 graduate semester credits in computer science for one (1) year of the required IT experience. However, undergraduate and/or graduate credits may not be substituted for the eighteen (18) months of experience in an administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory capacity as described in "1" above.


Preferred Skills

- (4) four + years of experience in Salesforce Development/Administration. - Knowledge and understanding of programming concepts as the Salesforce developer/administrator that includes Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and database design. - Familiarity with programming languages (e.g.) Java, .NET, JavaScript, and SQL a plus. - Candidate should be proficient in Salesforce administration, configuration, customization and should be familiar with Salesforce features and functionality, such as data management, security, automation, reporting, and dashboards. - Familiarity with the Salesforce platform and its features, including but not limited to Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and the Salesforce APIs. - Salesforce certification will a plus. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
