Job Description

The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.

The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) supports youth and community services through contracts with a broad network of Community-Based Organizations (CBO) throughout New York City. Our central task is administering available city, state, and federal funds to a wide range of innovative, practical and quality programs that positively impact youth and communities.

The Budget Review Insurance Compliance and Contract System (BRICCS) team is searching for a Reporting and Tracking Coordinator to report on all contract and budget implementation statuses.

Under the general supervision of the Director of BRICCS, the Reporting and Tracking Coordinator will:

- Manage high level data analytics for the BRICCS team to support oversight regarding compliance, financial performance evaluation, tracking, and risk analysis of unit’s overall operations.

- Serve as the units’ subject matter expert for internal and external financial systems and agency-wide initiatives. Will be responsible for researching, documenting, and understanding each system’s individual functionality and initiative’s goal, as well as how they are inter-related and coordinating implementation within the unit.

- Review, maintain, track and reconcile direct service contracts statuses and budgets for external stakeholders. Also act as budget support specialist within the department.

- Prepare and present analytical reports on funded CBOs by Major Program Areas. This can include fielding and/or responding to internal and external inquiries of related programs; preparing various reports on budgeting and monitoring implementation of initiatives.

- Serve as the Bureaus subject matter expert for all DYCD’s internal systems. Will be responsible for both understanding each system’s individual functionality as well as how they are inter-related and coordinating implementation within the Bureau.

- Coordinate with subunit leads on Fiscal IT developments and enhancements. Attend all Scrums to provide consistent coverage and knowledge of all items.

- Participate in work groups as needed to remain updated on all programmatic developments agency wide and to ensure integration with fiscal and program practices.

- Create PowerPoint presentations and other materials as needed and in a timely and accurate manner.

- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with subunit leads, external partners, and other departments to align business plans and strategic initiatives.


Minimum Qualifications

1. For Assignment Level I (only physical, biological and environmental sciences and public health) A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health.
To be appointed to Assignment Level II and above, candidates must have:
1. A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization; or
2. A master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least a master's degree in an appropriate field of specialization and at least two years of experience described in "2" above. Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the experience required in "1" and "2" above.

NOTE:
Probationary Period
Appointments to this position are subject to a minimum probationary period of one year.


Preferred Skills

- Strong Excel skills (Vlookup, XLookup, pivot tables, etc..) - Experience with PASSPort, will be considered a plus. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Professional telephone manner. - Well organized and detailed oriented. - Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
