Major Responsibilities
- Under close supervision, perform operations functions as directed, such as material pick-up and delivery, construction/demolition/carpentry, snow and ice removal, site clearing and preparation, fencing and sidewalk repairs, tree pruning, plantings and various related activities.
- Operate a wide range of vehicles and field power equipment, such as trucks and trailers, tractors, loaders, mowers, weedwhackers, snow blowers, chain saws and more.
- Take part in all assigned projects as directed, including construction, demolition, planting, pruning and concrete mixing and spreading.
- Respond as part of a team to citywide efforts as needed and help set up and break down for events
- Assist with maintenance and repair of an inventory of tools, equipment, vehicles and other types of motorized equipment.

**This vacancy is only open to current permanent Year-Round City Park Workers or those on leave from the title.

Duration: July 5, 2026 to January 5, 2027
Salary*: Your current annual salary plus a prorated Heavy Duty Differential

- Selection is based on seniority and ability to perform Heavy Duty tasks.
- *Appointees to this position will receive a prorated Heavy Duty Differential, in addition to base CPW salary.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualification Requirements
1. There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position.

2. A Motor Vehicle Driver's License valid in the State of New York is required.

3. Ability to read and to understand and obey orders is required.

4. There are certain medical and physical requirements.

1. Strong customer service, organizational and communication skills. 2. Ability to work independently. 3. Willing to work in inclement weather and able to perform intense and physically demanding work.
