The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) is the largest Fire Department in the United States and universally is recognized as the world's busiest and most highly skilled emergency response agency. The Department's main goal is to provide fire protection, emergency medical care, and other critical public safety services to residents and visitors in the five boroughs. FDNY members are sworn to serve and protect life and property and the Department works to continually educate the public in fire, life safety and disaster preparedness, along with enforcing public safety codes. This accomplishment requires a steadfast and daily commitment to maintaining the Department's core values.
The Recruitment Digital Content Strategist will be responsible for writing all communications targeted to potential Firefighter candidates. This will include ongoing career news and any other necessary communications. In addition, the Recruitment Digital Content Strategist will maintain the Join FDNY Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube accounts, as well as other social media that may be added to our ongoing efforts to remain in contact with as many test-takers of the Firefighter exam.
The role further includes:
-Create engaging story and video content for all FDNY hiring campaigns
-Manage news content for JoinFDNY.com, which includes special sections for FDNY Youth, Women and Veterans
-Serve as the Executive Producer for the Join FDNY Podcast
-Supervise Social Media Coordinator
-Responsible for writing news content for Human Resources, FDNY Affinity Groups and FDNY Sports
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory, full time experience related to the projects and policies to be studied in the particular
position.
