Job Description

The Division of Information Technology's mission and vision is to promote and protect the health of all New Yorkers through the use of innovative technology and health information that is useful and available. The nation's leading local health department seeks a IT Infrastructure and Virtualization Specialist to join its award-winning, innovative technology team in revolutionizing public health IT.

The Bureau of IT Infrastructure and Support Services (IIS) is seeking a highly motivated Infrastructure Project Manager to join our team. IIS provides critical infrastructure services to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), ensuring the reliable operation of essential systems and applications. The successful candidate will play a critical role in coordinating remediation activities, coordinate, triage, and manage infrastructure related requests and projects. The PM will also liaise with requesters to gather requirements and ensure the needs are met.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

- The IT Infrastructure Project Manager will coordinate, triage, and manage infrastructure related requests and projects.

- Liaise with requesters to gather requirements and ensure the needs are met.

- Specifically, the Project Manager will: Research, propose and implement enhancements to the IT infrastructure to meet agency objectives Monitor network and systems performance and resource utilization, ensuring system availability and reliability.

- Perform capacity planning. Establish, maintain and report on service level agreements for Infrastructure systems and services.

- Develop relationships with key business leaders to identify gaps in services and propose solutions to close the gaps.

- Research and recommend solutions and tools.

- Perform proof of concepts and vendor comparisons, offer solutions aligned with business requirements.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
- 5+ year serving lead technical role in two or more of the following areas:
- SAN infrastructure/centralized storage
- Server virtualization infrastructure in Vmware and Citrix environment.
- Windows active Directory administration in an enterprise level environment
- Linux system administration
- Business continuity and disaster recovery
- Network administration and configuration
- Information & Infrastructure Security
- Enterprise wireless networking
- In-depth knowledge of best-practices in network infrastructure design, standard network protocols, common network services, network management systems and troubleshooting tools and skills

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to information technology service management, process management, operations;

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to information technology service management, process management, operations;

3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
