Major Responsibilities
- Under general direction of the Public Programs Budget Supervisor, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, assist with the coordination of purchasing and budgeting for the Public Programs division.
- Assist with the planning and monitoring of both City and grant-funded expense budgets for Recreation and Public Program budgets as needed.
- Analyze and present detailed budget expenditure analyses and draft new need requests as necessary.
- Project manage various division contracts and ensure appropriate tracking of contract expenditures and balances.
- Work with the Purchasing & Accounting division to ensure timely processing of purchase requests.
- Use eRequester to facilitate and manage purchase orders and approvals.
- Using the Financial Management System (FMS) and Recware, prepare reports, write proposals and present findings and recommendations to division and Agency leadership.
- Utilize to improve Recreation’s efficiency as it applies to budgeting, purchasing and accounting.
- Assist the Public Programs Offices in tracking and spending of Council Member allocations. Monitor grant funding, tracking and spending.
- Liaise with vendors, acquire quotes, acquire equipment.
- Liaise with key stakeholders in Recreation and other NYC Parks divisions.

COMMUNITY COORDINATOR - 56058
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
1. A degree from an accredited college or university. 2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis. 3. Experience with Financial Management System (FMS), Recware and eRequester. 4. Working knowledge of NYC Procurement Policy Board (PPB) Rules and the Mayor's Office of Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (M/WBE) policies. 5. Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills. 6. Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access. 7. Ability to initiate and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. 8. Valid New York State driver license.
