Job Description
The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County (“BXDA”) is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. By “Pursuing Justice with Integrity,” the BXDA places a focus on assistance for crime victims while simultaneously ensuring fairness to defendants. Moreover, the BXDA aims to balance the need to seek appropriate punishment for certain crimes while recognizing when punitive measures do not adequately advance justice. By recognizing these significant distinctions and acting accordingly, BXDA has established a standard of excellence in the representation of the Bronx community at large, which continues to grow stronger every day.
BXDA's Strategic Planning and Analytics Unit serves as the internal management consulting arm of the Office. The unit uses cutting-edge data science and research analytics to support the Office's application of data-driven policies and practices. This unit is responsible for measuring office performance on prosecution indicators, evaluating the effects of policies and initiatives, conducting strategic analysis, and promoting transparency. The unit also manages the Office's grants, which provide critical funding to support prosecutorial practices and victims of crime in the Bronx.
The Strategic Planning and Analytics Unit of the Bronx District Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for a Project Coordinator. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Unit with a wide range of tasks related to research, data analysis, grants management, and reports. The project coordinator will help the unit develop and manage innovative projects and initiatives, including but not limited to policy and legislative research, grant research and writing, proposal development, data analysis and program evaluation, progress reporting on funded projects, budgeting, and overall assistance with projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General Support –provide administrative support and coordination, including preparation of briefing memoranda, talking points, background research, meeting planning, coordination, and scheduling,
- Data analysis: Conduct data entry as needed, create data tables and visualizations for presentations and reports, proof-reading, editing, copy writing, formatting, and general administrative coordination of reports and documents.
- Grant tracking: Develop and maintain a system to organize and track grants, project timelines, and other unit deliverables. Work with unit and office staff to maintain compliance and meet grant reporting requirements.
- Project management: serve as liaison between internal and external partners, work to identify and problem solve areas for efficiency.
- Directly assist the Chief and Deputy Chief with projects as needed.
- Perform all other related duties and projects as assigned.

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
- Bachelor’s degree - One to two years professional research or grant experience in a non-profit or public sector setting preferred. - Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. - Strong project management skills in a team-oriented environment. - Strong computer skills with some experience using MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, Adobe, PowerPoint, and other office software. - Prefer knowledge of the criminal justice system and criminal justice databases. - Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
