The New York Police Department has a unique career opportunity for a Project Analyst to work within Project Management Office (PMO). Under the leadership of the Assistant Commissioner, the Project Analyst will work with Project Teams within the PMO, who are responsible for managing multiple project teams and the coordination and management of a portfolio of diverse projects that impact the Department. The Project Analyst will also be involved is responsible for the coordination and completion of diverse projects that impacts the community.
- Work directly on projects that affect the NYPD and the community to develop project plans, workshops,
events and carry out activities, track progress and achieve deliverables.
- Create and use spreadsheets or other appropriate tools to manage tasks and keep up-to-date.
- Ability to multitask and work on multiple and diverse projects while supporting project teams in
achieving their goals.
- Generate various project-related documents including, schedules, project plans, presentations,
meeting agendas, minutes and status reports.
- Prepare and deliver informative, well-organized presentations.
- Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
- Understand how and when to communicate difficult/sensitive information appropriately.
-Use critical thinking to solve problems and approach challenges strategically.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory full-time experience in city planning; or
2. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience that is equivalent to “1"" above. Graduate
education in city planning, urban planning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, transportation engineering, public administration, economic development or related fields may be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 graduate semester credits from an accredited college for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a baccalaureate degree.
Special Qualification Requirements
Assignment Level III
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level III, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, one additional year of professional experience as described in "2" above.
Assignment Level IV
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level IV, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, two additional years of professional experience as described in "2" above.
Preference will be given to individuals with expertise and experience in the following areas: 1. A bachelor's degree in a related field and at least one year of work experience in the public or non-profit sector. 2.Ability to think creatively, embrace new approaches and pioneer innovative solutions to intricate problems. 3. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 4. Ability to write reports, correspondence, literature reviews, and memorandums. 5. Experience working on multiple tasks and assignments while maintaining attention to detail and the ability to be flexible with changing demands. 6. Familiarity with Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
