The Office of Accountability Strategies (OAS) is responsible for providing strategic operational, analytical, and systems support services to the DSS-AO (Department of Social Services Accountability Office), across the DSS, and to sister agencies outside of DSS, ensuring data driven efficiencies are effectively implemented.

Within OAS, Systems manages the full lifecycle of technical project delivery for their DSS-AO customers. DSS-AO-Systems develops, maintains and enhances systems, builds, maintains and expands data match and customized database resources. In addition, provides project management and business analysis services and coordinates technical support to facilitate problem resolution.

OAS-Systems is recruiting for one (1) Computer Programmer Analyst I to function as an Applications/Programmer Analyst, who will:

- Apply structured systems analysis and design methodologies to evaluate specifications for computer system applications.

- Create input/output files. Prepare file layouts and report formats from various computer applications.

- Design and implement remote computer systems for IREA across all platforms (PC’s, UNIX and mainframes). Test computer systems to verify functionality meets system requirements.

- Assist in making recommendations to management to streamline workflow and procedures to accommodate automation and provides user training related to implemented systems when necessary.

- Perform post implementation review to confirm that new computer system satisfies user requirements.

- Act as technical liaison between IREA and ITS at user meetings


Minimum Qualifications

(1) A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in computer science or a related computer field; or

(2) A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus (3) years of satisfactory full-time computer programming experience; or

(3) A satisfactory combination of education and experience that is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. College education may be substituted for up to one year of the experience required in "2" above on the basis that sixty (60) semester credits from an accredited college is equated to one year of experience. In addition, twenty-four (24) undergraduate and/or graduate semester credits from an accredited college or university in computer science or a related computer field, or a certificate of at least 625 hours in computer programming from an accredited technical school (post high school), may be substituted for one year of experience. However, all candidates who attempt to qualify under option "3" must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and at least (1) year of satisfactory full-time computer programming experience.
