The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.

Under the supervision of the Director and Deputy Director of Cornerstone Programs with some latitude for the exercise of independent action and decision-making, the Program Manager oversees multiple Cornerstone Program Contracts and performs the following:

- Monitors and evaluates a portfolio of Community-Based Organization (CBO) contractors based on specific criteria.
- Conduct site visits during late afternoon and early evening hours. (After school, evening, Saturday)
- Prepare standard reports as designated by higher management.
- Become proficient and provide training to CBOs on DYCD CONNECT, DYCD’s innovative, web-based program management system Coach portfolio of providers to improve quality.
- Support DYCD initiatives and community-based projects.
- Other projects and tasks as needed to support the Cornerstone unit and its programs. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Computer literate with advanced knowledge of Microsoft: Word, Excel, and Outlook.


Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.


Preferred Skills

Preferred Skills We are seeking an independent, self-motivated individual with strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must also have experience in program management and development, preferably in the field of human service programs and youth development direct experience working with CBOs youth ability to facilitate meetings and reporting. Knowledge of New York City contracting and contracting processes Experience or knowledge of programming at NYCHA center facilities is a plus. Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and management skills, ability to perform complex tasks and prioritize multiple projects. Minimum Qual Requirements 1. Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
