The New York County District Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for a Program Manager in the Strategic Investments Unit. DANY’s Strategic Investments Unit plans, implements, and oversees special projects, including diversion and alternative to incarceration programs, internal policy development and implementation, and the Office’s Criminal Justice Investment Initiative, a $250 million investment in community-based crime prevention and criminal justice system reform.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Strategic Investments, the Program Manager will support multiple DANY units on the development and oversight of programs directly related to DANY practices and priorities. The Program Manager will support the development and design of new projects and provide oversight and monitoring of existing projects including acting as the direct liaison with consultants, community-based organizations, and service providers. Strong candidates will be goal-oriented problem-solvers who are active listeners open to new ideas and feedback. They will also have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills and be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Produce well researched and data-driven memos to advise DANY leadership about potential initiatives and investments.
- Support in projecting program costs, staffing plans, and feasibility of potential investments.
- Draft solicitations and support the procurement of new programs.
- Prepare reports, project timelines, work plans, briefings, and presentations on existing initiatives.
- Collaborate and provide strategic support to partners to drive the success of programs including cultivating relationships with community and court system partners, programmatic support with process improvements, and adapting program approaches, as needed.
- Assist in the development of program performance metrics and data collection strategies.
- Monitor the implementation of DANY projects including monthly/bi-monthly provider check-ins, conduct quarterly or semi-annual performance reviews, and monitor program data collection to ensure quality assurance.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings, site visits, and community events including some events that may fall outside of business hours.
- Lead program assessments including surveys, focus groups, communities of practices, and town halls to evaluate satisfaction with services and collect feedback and suggestions directly from the community to improve programs.
- Collaborate with DANY’s Data Analytics and Research, Legislation and Policy, Pathways to Public Safety Division, Community Partnership Unit, Special Victims Unit, Procurement and Contract Management and Communications Unit, among others, on matters related to projects/programs.
- Maintain efficient, organized records of program performance measures, work plans, project timelines, milestones, quarterly reports, contracts, etc.
- Provide regular updates on projects, verbally or written, including briefs, presentations, and reports to update executive staff and stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties and tasks, as assigned.
In addition to the Minimum Qualification Requirements, all candidates must possess the following:
1. Bachelor’s degree in sociology, psychology, criminal justice/criminology, public health, social work/counseling, or related social science field; and
2. 3-5 years’ experience in program design, implementation, and/or management, experience with the criminal legal system, is preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
- Demonstrated subject matter knowledge or experience related to one or more areas including: community-lead programming, violence prevention and intervention, survivor/victims of violence, behavioral health, diversion and/or reentry.
- Interest in public policy and a desire to tackle complex issues, including public safety, justice, and equity.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Track record of successful project management with keen attention to detail.
- Must be a self-motivated, resourceful, and have excellent judgement.
- Ability to think strategically and multitask in a fast-paced environment, with shifting priorities.
- Experience working collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently on discrete projects.
- Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources effectively and make clear and well-reasoned recommendations.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

- Current office employees: To be eligible for a transfer or promotion, staff must have already served at least 1 year in their current position and be in good standing. In addition, must meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
- Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
