Job Description

This vacancy has now expired.

The Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (ENDGBV) develops policies and programs, provides training and prevention education, conducts research and evaluations, performs community outreach, and operates the NYC Family Justice Centers. The office collaborates with City agencies and community stakeholders to ensure access to inclusive services for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence.

The Office to ENDGBV External Affairs and Community Initiatives Team will oversee and operate ENDGBV’s prevention efforts and community-based initiatives, especially non-system based- community work. The team also oversees our press relationships and ensures that our work is being appropriately and readily highlighted across numerous communities. The External Affairs and Community Initiatives Team houses the Office’s accessibility and inclusion work, with staff members assigned to the roles of Language Access Coordinator, Disability Service Facilitator, and LGBTQ Liaison.

The ENDGBV Program Coordinators report to ENDGBV’s Executive Director of Community Initiatives and will raise awareness of domestic and gender-based violence, increase access to services, develop linkages and partnerships, and enhance culturally responsive resources for survivors in communities most affected by DV/GBV. The Program Coordinators will focus on vulnerable, at-risk, isolated/insular, faith, immigrant, and LGBTQ+ communities with highest rates of DIRs within their assigned boroughs, although they may also be expected to work citywide.

Through outreach and community engagement, they build relationships across all community stakeholders and partners to share information, identify existing community supports, and implement relevant events, initiatives, and programs in specific communities. They will also be responsible for maintaining close relationships with the Family Justice Centers in their boroughs and working with teams across the agency to expand ENDGBV’s network of service providers, inform agency practices and develop community responses. The Program Coordinators will also support ENDGBV’s prevention efforts, engaging directly with community members and partners and working collaboratively to create meaningful opportunities to promote healthy relationships.
