The Office of Citywide Procurement (OCP) is the centralized procurement line of service with various external and internal functions, including ensuring that procurement processes comply with all applicable rules and mandates. In support of all City agencies, OCP is responsible for citywide contract management, quality assurance, and supply chain management. This work helps maintain the public trust and ensures that all products and services support the City's overarching environmental and economic justice goals.

- Assist with procurement and financial tasks, including preparing and reviewing bid solicitations and proposal packages under supervision.
- Support pre-bid conferences and help review vendor bids and proposals.
- Conduct research on vendors and contractors and assist in analyzing contract requirements, budgets, and purchase orders.
- Support qualitative and cost analysis efforts to help address procurement-related questions and gather data using City information systems.
- Receive training on the policies and procedures of the Office of Citywide Procurement (OCP), applicable local laws, and Procurement Policy Board rules, and assist in developing contract plans for client agencies.
- Support communication between agency business units and vendors.
- Assist with identifying opportunities to improve procurement efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and responsiveness.
- Help prepare responses to information requests related to procurement and contract matters.
- Participate in team projects and perform special assignments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited CUNY college in a major related to the work in which the fellow will be trained, and perform in the particular position.

- Willingness to learn and contribute to process improvement initiatives. - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with clear written and verbal communication abilities. - Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail. - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others. - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and openness to learning new systems and technologies.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
