The Historic House Trust of New York City (HHT) is looking for a dynamic individual to join the team as an Outreach Associate. HHT is a nonprofit organization founded in 1989 that partners with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation (NYC Parks) to help preserve 23 historic houses located in public parks across all five NYC boroughs. Each of these sites are operated as museums by independent nonprofit partners.
Major Responsibilities
- Under direction of the Deputy Director, build strategic relationships with partners across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Work closely with the Development Director to plan and execute outreach events.
- Work closely with the Deputy Director to craft copy for email and direct mail communications.
- Document ongoing activities with photography and video and help create content to be shared publicly.
- Foster and maintain relationships with both historic house museum staff and city partners.
- Attend public programming and fundraisers hosted by partners.
- Maintain HHT’s online presence and work with stakeholders to update the website and social media platforms.

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
1. Bachelor's degree preferred. 2. Experience or interest in historic preservation or cultural institutions is a plus. 3. Experience in community relations or nonprofit management. 4. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills. Experience writing for traditional/print and digital media preferred. 5. Flexible and able to work independently and as part of a team. 6. Valid New York State driver license.
