Job Description

This vacancy has now expired.

- Operate one or more types of motor vehicles such as passenger car, van, truck, tow truck, wrecker, forklift, tractor, skidsteer/skid loader, ride-on mower or tractor-trailer truck.
- May drive a van/truck carrying employees and material to and from work locations.
- May act as a chauffeur to an official. Checks the tires, oil and fuel of the vehicle, replenishes fluids as needed, and checks the vehicle to see that lights, horn and brakes appear to be operating
properly.
- Report any noticeable mechanical defects in the vehicle.
- Clean the windows and interior and exterior of the vehicle.
- Assist in loading and unloading of materials, equipment, and passengers.
- Operate motor equipment mounted on, or transported by, the vehicle.
- Responsible for tools, supplies, materials, and equipment carried in or on the assigned vehicle.
- When not driving, may be required to perform such additional duties as running errands, answering phones and delivering mail and/or small packages.

Note: The minimum Driver's License Class for this position is a CDL Class B Permit.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements: There are no formal education or experience requirements.
Driver License Requirement: By the time you are appointed to this position, you must have a motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York. If you have moving violations, license suspension(s) or an accident record, you may be disqualified. This license must be maintained for the duration of your employment.
