The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the nation’s largest public housing authority, with an operation budget of $3.3 billion and over 11,000 employees who manage and maintain 311 developments that house about 400,000 residents. NYCHA also operates the country’s largest Section 8 program, which provides rental assistance to about 200,000 additional people.
NYCHA’s Learning and Development Department delivers and provides service coordination of training and professional development for NYCHA employees to do their jobs safely and effectively. We are currently seeking a Computer Systems Trainer to train NYCHA employees in the use of business applications (specifically iWM and Maximo). In this role, the candidate develops the curriculum used to instruct employees and facilitates training in a classroom setting. Job duties include facilitating training, leading discussions, providing end-user support, and ensuring NYCHA employees can successfully navigate business applications to execute the duties of their respective jobs.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Deliver instruction utilizing iWM (Informer Worker Management) and Maximo software applications.
- Conduct and facilitate computer training classes using instructor-led and online delivery modalities, that are in alignment with adult education delivery methodology.
- Create designs, compose, write, and deliver training material. Revise and update training programs. Design and write training manuals and materials, including e-learning content.
- Create PowerPoint presentations. Develop trainer's guides.
- Conduct needs analyses for NYCHA Property Management and Central Office training (e.g., creating and distributing surveys and/or conducting focus groups).
- Provide technical assistance, end-user support and training to NYCHA staff in computer systems techniques, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain technical equipment (computers, tablets, phones, etc.)
- Perform related training and administrative duties as required.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
