The New York City Housing Authority Information Technology (NYCHA IT) is seeking a Cisco and Arista operations technician for daily operational support and administrator as well as standard operational project-based tasks such as router or switch design build and installation. Reporting to the Network Operations Manager, the selected candidate is responsible for daily monitoring and operational support of Cisco and Arista Routers and switches including adds, moves and changes of Cisco and Arista based hardware and software, troubleshooting and maintain incident tickets, prioritization and coordination of switch and router IOS and hardware upgrades as well as creating, maintaining and continual updating of network diagrams and documentation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Daily monitor and administration of Data Carrier tickets.
2. Daily monitor, document, troubleshoot, and manage Router and Switch incident tickets and service queues.
3. Daily incident and change review; assist, prioritize and coordinate technician dispatches.
4. Configurate and troubleshoot Cisco and Arista Routing and Switching system issues, including escalation when needed.
5. Create, maintain and update Network diagrams and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,

3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.


Preferred Skills

1. Basic to advanced hands-on troubleshooting and configuration knowledge of Cisco routing and switching systems. 2. Ability to work under pressure. 3. Ability to work a flexible schedule. 4. Excellent written and verbal skills. 5. Good organizational skills. 6. Five or more years of technical expertise in the following: - Hands on Associate or Professional level experience in configuring and implementing Cisco networks. - Hands on creating and updating Visio network diagrams. - Hands on troubleshooting Cisco network systems. 7. Special Certification/License Requirements: - Required - Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) routing/switching. - Preferred - Cisco Certified Network Professional preferred (CCNP) routing/switching. - MCSA/MCSE
