The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services, and provides subsidized child care vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement and programs for youth in the community.
The New York City (NYC) Administration for Children’s Services’ (ACS) Office of Information Technology (OIT) is responsible for providing high quality, reliable, and sustainable technology services, and support to meet the needs of the families and children we serve through ACS, its vendor partners and other City agencies. The Center for Technology Ideation and Management (CFTIM) unit devises the IT strategy and roadmap, bringing to fruition transformative and innovative technology solutions that are aligned with the Agency's missions. This is accomplished through four key areas Relationship Management, Technology Ideation, Enterprise Architecture and Project Management.
OIT is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Service Management Graduate Intern to join our Center for Technology Ideation and Management.
As an IT Service Management Graduate Intern, you will gain hands-on experience assisting with monitoring and analysis of incident, service request, change requests and problem records to support process compliance, trend reporting, and continuous improvement. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to working alongside the Center for Technology Ideation and Management team as they implement transformative and innovative technology solutions that align with the Agency's mission. Additionally, as a member of the 2026, ACS Summer Internship Program cohort, you will participate in an enrichment program designed to fully engage students into the ACS and NYC government experience. Internship programming includes professional development workshops, lunch and learns, speaker events, NYC government tours, and networking opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with monitoring and analysis of incident, service requests, change requests and problem records to support process compliance, trend reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Support change management activities, including documentation, scheduling and Change Advisory Board (CAB) coordination.
- Maintain and update Configuration Management Database (CMDB) records for accuracy and completeness.
- Help analyze service metrics and key performance indicators (e.g. ticket trends, root cause reports, etc.)
- Assist with documenting and improving IT Service Management processes via development of knowledge-based articles.
- Participate in problem management investigations and root cause analysis.
- Support service desk operations and end-user support coordination and assist with service catalog updates and process automation initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement projects and create reports and dashboards for leadership visibility.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure service reliability.
