Job Description
Our IT Department, comprising of 16 dedicated professionals, is the backbone of support for the New York City Police Pension Fund. Leveraging a diverse range of expertise, we ensure seamless integration of cutting-edge technology solutions, guaranteeing the Fund's digital infrastructure remains robust and secure.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT professional to join our organization as the IT Operations Supervisor. In this leadership role, you will work closely with the Director of Information Technology to shape and execute the IT strategy that supports our organization's goals and objectives. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of technology solutions, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our IT systems. Duties and responsibilities of this candidate will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Ensure that the IT department provides quality services to the organization and its customers, including help desk support, system maintenance, and software development;
- Ensure that the organization's IT systems are properly maintained, including hardware, software, and network systems;
- Responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of new technology projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget;
- Implement policies and procedures for data management, security, and compliance;
- Assist the Director of IT Operations to ensure that the IT budget is properly managed and allocate resources effectively to meet the agencies technology needs;
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities in the organization's systems and network;
- Managing security incidents and breaches, including investigation, containment, and reporting to appropriate stakeholders;
- Implements and manages security controls, such as firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection systems, and access controls;
- Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the organization can continue to operate in the event of a security incident or breach;
- Build relationships with other departments and stakeholders, including senior management, customers, and vendors;
- Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in technology and make recommendations for implementing new systems and processes that can benefit the organization;
- Performs other special projects as may be required.

Salary: The hiring rate being offered for this position is $120,000. If you possess the preferred skills above, consideration will be given to offer you a maximum annual salary of no more than $150,000. The salary is non-negotiable.

NOTE: This is a full-time on-site position. The incumbent will be required to report to the office on a regular basis.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A master's degree in computer science from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience in Information Technology (IT) including applications development, systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing, or user services. At least eighteen (18) months of this experience must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity in the areas of applications development, systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing or in the supervision of staff performing these duties; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience as described in "1" above; or

3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and six (6) years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience as described in "1" above; or

4. A satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to "1", "2" or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and must possess at least three (3) years of experience as described in "1" above, including the eighteen (18) months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described in "1" above.

In the absence of a baccalaureate degree, undergraduate credits may be substituted for a maximum of two (2) years of the required experience in IT on the basis of 30 semester credits for six (6) months of the required experience. Graduate credits in computer science may be substituted for a maximum of one (1) year of the required experience in IT on the basis of 30 graduate semester credits in computer science for one (1) year of the required IT experience. However, undergraduate and/or graduate credits may not be substituted for the eighteen (18) months of experience in an administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory capacity as described in "1" above.

- Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server Administration, O365 Implementation, VMware & Hyper-V, Linux / Redhat Server Administration, Security Vulnerability Assessments, Crowdstrike, McAfee, Cisco OS Administration, Avaya Phone System, EMC Unity SAN System, Proofpoint Email gateway & Web filter, Backup Exec - Strong technical and Project Management skills and leadership qualities - Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with ability to define and document IT requirements based on business objectives and projects - Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues, products, and services - Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language - Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail - Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, dynamic environment and manage multiple streams of projects and deliverables with a need for adjustments and rapid iteration.
