Job Description
Our IT Department, comprising of 16 dedicated professionals, is the backbone of support for the New York City Police Pension Fund. Leveraging a diverse range of expertise, we ensure seamless integration of cutting-edge technology solutions, guaranteeing the Fund's digital infrastructure remains robust and secure.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT professional to join our organization as the IT Help Desk Supervisor. In this leadership role, you will work closely with the Director of Information Technology to shape and execute the IT strategy that supports our organization's goals and objectives. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of technology solutions, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our IT systems. Duties and responsibilities of this candidate will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Receives all help desk calls via phone, email, and walk-in;
o Records help desk ticket in the Manage Engine Service Desk Plus ticket tracking application
o Provides first level resolution to issues
o Assign calls to computer technicians
o Follows-up on outstanding help desk calls
o Ensure tickets are closed in a timely fashion
- Supervises and provides mentorship to the help desk staff;
- Manages 3rd party consultants and vendors (Dell, Lexmark, HP, Microsoft, etc.);
- Maintains computer stock room (toner, monitors, printers, computers, laptops);
- Make purchase recommendation of supplies to the Director of IT;
- Work with the IT Director to plan and monitor annual help desk budget expenses;
- Receives supplies, compares invoices, stocks equipment;
- Manages and maintains the accuracy of the agency computer equipment floor charts;
- Computer Inventory Management: maintain the asset tag database;
- Provides management oversight and supervision of the COPS2Go equipment;
- Attends the COPS2Go sessions to provide supervision of the setup and breakdown of equipment;
- Reviews the daily checklist and reports on any issues;
- Escalates complex problems to higher level of expertise within organization;
- Communicate with other IT staff as needed to ensure problem resolution and tracking;
- Perform special projects and initiatives, as assigned.

Candidates must be permanent or reachable on a viable civil service list in the Computer Systems Manager title to be considered for this position.
Salary: The hiring rate being offered for this position is $100,000. If you possess the preferred skills above, consideration will be given to offer you a maximum annual salary of no more than $120,000. The salary is non-negotiable.

NOTE: This is a full-time on-site position. The incumbent will be required to report to the office on a regular basis.

1. A master's degree in computer science from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience in Information Technology (IT) including applications development, systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing, or user services. At least eighteen (18) months of this experience must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity in the areas of applications development, systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing or in the supervision of staff performing these duties; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience as described in "1" above; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and six (6) years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience as described in "1" above; or
4. A satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to "1", "2" or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and must possess at least three (3) years of experience as described in "1" above, including the eighteen (18) months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described in "1" above.
In the absence of a baccalaureate degree, undergraduate credits may be substituted for a maximum of two (2) years of the required experience in IT on the basis of 30 semester credits for six (6) months of the required experience. Graduate credits in computer science may be substituted for a maximum of one (1) year of the required experience in IT on the basis of 30 graduate semester credits in computer science for one (1) year of the required IT experience. However, undergraduate and/or graduate credits may not be substituted for the eighteen (18) months of experience in an administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory capacity as described in "1" above.
- Thorough knowledge of service desk functions and operations - Some knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP - In-depth understanding with strong knowledge of: Windows 10 & 11, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, MS Office O365 - ITIL Certification - Strong written and verbal communication - Strong customer service experience and skills courteous telephone manner.
