Job Description
The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) is an integral part of the City’s evolving criminal justice system, participating in reform initiatives and strategies aimed to move the City towards a smaller jail system without compromising public safety. The DOC is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, visitors, volunteers, and people in our custody. Importantly, safe jails enable DOC to provide people in custody with the tools and opportunities they need to successfully re-enter their communities. The DOC operates facilities and court commands across the five boroughs with more than 7,500 diverse professionals and knowledgeable experts.
NYCDOC AIU Investigative Quality Assurance Manager investigates quality issues, defects, and non-compliance by tracking and analyzing data, conducting root cause analysis, write comprehensive investigative reports as needed, and implements Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to ensure products/processes meet standards, deal with complaints, audits, and process tracking and improvement.
- Develop and implement quality assurance protocols and processes.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of psychologically driven statistics.
- Document and report product or process quality issues.
- Collaborate with multiple units to identify and resolve procedural issues.
- Create and maintain quality documentation and records.
- Track applicant exam waivers and report out non-compliance.
- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop corrective actions for quality issues.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure quality of raw materials.
- Lead root cause analysis investigations.
- Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives.
- Prepare quality reports for management review.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in a investigative research/quality assurance role.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in quality management software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
