Job Description
The New York City Comptroller’s Office works to promote the financial health, integrity, and effectiveness of New York City government, in order to strengthen trust, secure a thriving future for all New Yorkers, and build a more just, equitable, and resilient city. The Communications Team supports the work of the Comptroller’s office to secure a thriving future for all New Yorkers by disseminating information, highlighting key initiatives through digestible and multimedia content, growing the credibility of the office through relationships with the press and the public, and advancing the conversation locally and nationally on key policy objectives.
The Digital Producer Intern will assist in production, filming, and editing of digital content for public information releases. Responsibilities of the Digital Producer Intern include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting video shoots, creating social media content, and assisting with equipment setup during productions
- Supporting live event coverage with photo and video capture, helping with editing processes, and maintaining digital assets
- Assisting with storytelling initiatives that communicate city policies and projects through multimedia content
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Matriculation at an accredited college. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in college.
IMPORTANT:
- Our office is located at the David Dinkins Municipal Building, 1 Centre St. in Manhattan/New York.
- All interns will work in-person in the office, Monday – Thursday, 28 hours per week.
- The employment period will be from June 2 – July 31, 2025.
As of June of the Program year the prospective interne must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June - August each year.
- Knowledge of video production and editing software (Premiere Pro and Lightroom Classic preferred) is required. - Digital photography/videography experience. - Plan, shoot, edit and publish social media projects start to finish. - Creative ways to edit videos (title animation, captions, transitions and color grading) and photos. - Experience using DSLR/Mirrorless/Cinema camera.
