DCAS’s Human Resources Unit seeks to hire a talented, and highly motivated individual to serve as a Human Resources Coordinator within the Administration line of service. Human Resources is responsible for overseeing recruitment, hiring, onboarding and the day-to-day personnel operations for DCAS, including, but not limited to: appointments, promotions, separations, leaves of absences and employee counseling, when necessary.

Under the Direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources, responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Determining eligibility and processing the following types of leaves of absences: Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Paid Parental Leave (PPL), Paid Family Leave (PFL) and Workers’ Compensation (WC).
- Ensuring that leave of absence files are maintained, organized and filed accordingly.
- Periodically archiving files in alignment with current retention policies.
- Serving as the liaison to each Line of Service (LOS) to assure that they are kept abreast of all leave of absence requests for their LOS, and to provide guidance as needed.
- Liaising with third party insurance carriers for Paid Family Leave and respond to all union, private and no-fault insurance requests within a timely manner.
- Assisting with the creation and maintenance of employee personnel files.
- Other tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
