Responsibilities will include implementing complex hiring and personnel actions through NYCAPS; coordination and facilitation of employee processing ensuring adherence to NYCAPS workflow procedures and citywide requirements and regulations; coordination of recruitment, on-boarding, and personnel activities; tracking, reporting, and escalating issues; providing employee services and handing inquiries from agency employees in adherence with internal processes and guidelines; utilization of computer based applications and HR programs to support agency business needs and continuous improvement efforts; coordination of tasks & standards and performance evaluation compliance; monitoring results through metrics, reporting, and tracking systems; liaison duties with internal partners and oversight agencies; participating in strategic planning efforts regarding matters involving civil service administration; conducting internal employee orientations for new hires; preparation of confidential reports and documentation, research, analysis, correspondence, and records management; and coordinating special projects as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
The preferred candidate should possess the following: 5+ years of professional administrative experience in a government setting experience with HR management systems and city programs demonstrated experience with project management and/or process management ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines strong quantitative and reporting skills strong analytic, problem solving, and time management skills excellent verbal communication skills and presentation skills strong business writing skills advanced skill level with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint programs advanced proficiency with spreadsheet applications excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail excellent research and documentation skills experience documenting business processes and implementing solutions ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and ability to excel in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
