The Department of Probation is recruiting 2 HR Analysts to support departmental operations. Under the direction of the Director of Recruitment and Candidate Investigations, with latitude for independent judgment and initiative the HR Analysts will:
- Ensure that personnel transactions and records are updated and accurate; Update all internal HR tracking spreadsheets and databases accordingly and in a timely manner; Provide necessary updates to senior staff as necessary.
- Liaise with Investigation staff to help facilitate the background investigation process for prospective candidates in the pre-employment process.
- Initiate the onboarding and hiring process for all prospective employees; Follow up with candidates to ensure pertinent processing information and forms are received in a timely manner; Employ a customer-service driven approach in order to deliver a positive onboarding experience to every candidate.
- Conduct structured New Hire Orientation for new hires.
- Serve as a liaison between prospective employees and hiring managers throughout all stages of the pre-employment and onboarding processes.
- Review applicants for posted positions; Perform analysis to determine if candidates meet minimum qualification requirements; Screen applicants for requested preferred skills if necessary.
- Generate HR reports using systems such as NYCAPS and CHRMS.
- Perform recruitment functions at various city-wide events to promote vacant positions and agency opportunities as a representative of the Department of Probation.
- Assist with special projects and HR functions as needed.

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
Preferred skills include: - Detail-oriented & high-level organizational skills. - The ability to exercise independent judgment & manage multiple priorities. - Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. - Expertise in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft programs. - Ability to compile reports and prepare presentations.
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
