Job Description
Under the direction of the Leased Housing Portability Manager, duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Review and process portability requests to/from various Public Housing Authorities (PHA).
2. Liaison with PHAs, NYCHA departments, and HUD on high-priority port cases.
3. Resolve all port applicants' and tenants' related issues.
4. Review and process portability voucher extensions.
5. Establish effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
6. Ensure accuracy as to portability cases.
7. Check assigned cases with Reasonable Accommodation for supervisor review and approval.
8. Maintain port logs and submit reports to portability manager
9. Other duties as assigned.

HOUSING ASSISTANT (HA) - 80201
Minimum Qualifications
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college; or
An associate degree or sixty semester credits from an accredited college and one year of satisfactory full-time experience in housing management at a development or developments containing at least 150 apartments, performing any one or a combination of the following duties: interviewing applicants; determining eligibility; gathering and evaluating information to resolve complaints; collecting rents; and/or resolving tenant-related problems; or
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and three years of satisfactory full-time experience as described in “1” above; or
A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience as described in "1" or "2" above. Undergraduate college credit may be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for one year of satisfactory full-time experience. However, all candidates must have a four-year high school diploma, or its educational equivalent.
Preferred Skills
1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. 2. Knowledge of Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program and related compliance functions and Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") rules and regulations. 3. Thorough knowledge of the HUD regulations for Portability under the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV) 4. Extensive knowledge of Siebel Database proficiency in Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, Power Point, Outlook and other database systems. 5. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. 6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, superiors, residents, community service agencies, and the public manage multiple priorities and demands analyze situations and identify problems and offer solutions. Ability to interface with all levels of staff and external customers. 7. Excellent written and communication skills.
