THIS POSTING IS FOR 5 POSITIONS
Reporting to the Project Based Contract Housing Manager, the Housing assistant serves as the liaison for Leased Housing’s Section 8 Project Based Voucher (PBV) and Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) programs with direct responsibility for:
1. Process interim changes to identify 504 units and process reasonable accommodation.
2. Handle PIC fatal errors.
3. Processing rent reasonableness, PBV contract rent increases and retroactive adjustments to owners.
4. Run and analyze rent reasonableness evaluation for contract rent increases.
5. Create HQS inspections and monitor HQS results.
6. Participating in NYCHA RFP review committee meetings; monitoring owner application RFP scoring
7. Managing PBV vacancies and online PBV site-based waiting lists.
8. Review and update data fields in Siebel when necessary.
9. Establishing effective working relationships with internal units and outside agencies.
10. Analyze and prepare monthly PBV status reports for the LHD executive staff.
11. Schedule RAD inspections in Siebel and monitor results of inspections.
12. Manage the preparation of conversion file and documents of RAD properties conversion.
13. Other duties as required by the Project Based and RAD Conversions unit.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college; or
2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and four years of satisfactory full-time experience in housing management at a development or developments containing at least 150 apartments, performing any one or a combination of the following duties: interviewing applicants; determining eligibility; gathering and evaluating information to resolve complaints; collecting rents; and/or resolving tenant related problems; or
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience as described in "1" or "2" above. Undergraduate college credit may be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for one year of satisfactory full-time experience. However, all candidates must have a four-year high school diploma, or its educational equivalent
EXPERIENCE IN WHICH TASKS PERFORMED ARE PRIMARILY CLERICAL, SECRETARIAL, RECEPTIONIST, AND/OR ACCOUNTING IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. EXPERIENCE THAT INCLUDES ONLY
INCIDENTAL CONTACT OR INTERACTION WITH TENANTS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
1. Extensive knowledge of the HUD regulations for the Section 8 Project Based Voucher (PBV) 24 CFR 983 and the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) Programs 2. Advanced computer skills experience using Siebel, Microsoft Excel and Word 3. Excellent detail orientation and follow-up skills 4. Ability to interface with all levels of staff. 5. Excellent written and communication skills.
