The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the nation’s largest public housing authority, with an operating budget of $3.3 billion and over 11,000 employees who manage and maintain 311 developments that house about 400,000 residents. NYCHA also operates the country’s largest Section 8 program, which provides rental assistance to about 200,000 additional people.

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Healthy Homes Community Coordinator is responsible for a portfolio of business units within the Healthy Homes Department and works directly with these business unit to coordinate and manage quality assurance efforts. The Healthy Homes Community Coordinator must have specialized knowledge in inspectional processes. Knowledge in housing, health and/or environmental policy is a plus.

The Community Coordinator will report to the QA Manager in Healthy Homes Dept. Duties and responsibilities will include the following:

1. Implement, coordinate, monitor and/or evaluate programs providing important XRF Inspection services.
2. Perform difficult work in the preparation of planning documents required for move out turnovers.
3. Prepare evaluation reports, perform analyses and review documentation.
4. Make recommendations on policies and procedures.
5. Provide authoritative interpretation of complex problems.
6. Provide technical assistance and training to subordinate staff in techniques of program implementation and management.
7. Collect and analyze a variety of complex data and information. In collaboration with others, performs statistical analysis and summarizes findings in applicable reports.
8. Initiate project-related communication and requests for information and provides guidance to other departments, and/or outside parties.
9. Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.


Preferred Skills

1. Ability to analyze qualitative information and technical reports. 2. Ability to read and understand performance management data. 3. Strong organizational skills. 4. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project Management software and Scheduling software. 5. Ability to use data and metrics to drive decisions and measure performance. 6. Proven ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal.
