The Team You’ll Work With:
The Mayor's Office of Creative Communications is responsible for generating digital content that represents Mayoral policy and its impact on everyday New Yorkers. The team utilizes digital media to tell a unique story of City Hall and the City of New York through live social media coverage, official photos, videos, graphics, and more. The role involves assisting with daily social media content creation for multiple platforms and voices, with a special focus on the @nycgov, @nycmayor, and @nycmayorsoffice Instagram channels. The position requires a combination of education and experience, with at least one year of experience in administration, research, management, analytical work, community work, or community activities. Candidates must also have a background in political communications, marketing, or social media.
The Problems You’ll Solve:
The Graphic Design Deputy’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and execute comprehensive visual design strategies for citywide initiatives, collaborating directly with agencies, departments, and high-ranking principals.
- Responsibilities include:
o Develop and maintain brand consistency across municipal communications and campaigns.
o Spearhead creative direction for marketing initiatives and public outreach programs.
o Manage and coordinate complex design projects from concept to completion.
o Create visual solutions for print, digital, and multimedia platforms.
o Oversee content calendar and ensure timely delivery of design deliverables.
o Present design concepts to executive leadership and stakeholders.
o Ensure all materials meet accessibility standards and municipal guidelines.
About You:
- You are a hardworking graphic designer who takes initiative and is fluent in branding and innovative visual communications.
- You have familiarity with: Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and UX/UI design principles.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3+ years of experience.

2. Do you have an associate degree from an accredited college or university along with two (2) years of experience with administrative, analytic, coordinative, supervisory or liaison responsibilities?

4. Do you have a satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to that described in questions "1," "2," and/or "3" above?
