The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the nation’s largest public housing authority with more than 400,000 New Yorkers residing in NYCHA’s 334 public housing developments around 5 boroughs, and another 235,000 receiving subsidized rental assistance in private homes through the NYCHA administered Section 8 Leased Housing Program.

The Healthy Home Unit, reporting to the Senior Vice President for Healthy Homes, oversees operationalizing environmental hazard compliance efforts. The Office of Mold Assessment and Remediation (OMAR) is a Healthy Homes Unit responsible for overseeing operational response to mold, leaks and excessive moisture in NYCHA’s developments, managing ventilation improvement work, implementing process improvement, developing quality assurance process and overseeing 3rd party mold assessor, remediator and ventilation contracts.

In addition, OMAR works closely with the Baez Plaintiffs, Special Master, Independent Mold Analyst, Independent Data Analyst and HUD Monitor as it pertains to NYCHA’s efforts to remediate mold and leak conditions and prevent their recurrence.

Under the direct supervision of Senior Manager, this position will be responsible for coordinating NYCHA's response to mold, leak and ventilation-related work in partnership with other stakeholders.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

1. Assist in planning, problem solving, research and general administration.
2. Assist in the analysis of departmental and agency programs.
3. Assist in the development of alternative proposals for the achievement of program objects.
4. Assist in research, the design of policies, programs and procedures, quantitative and fiscal analysis studies, project management and general administration.
5. Prepare reports and statements for departmental management.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in an accredited college, university or law school.
