Job Description

Major Responsibilities

- Under supervision, with latitude for independent initiative and the exercise of independent judgment, support the development, maintenance, and optimization of ITT GIS mapping processes and infrastructure systems.
- Design, configure, and implement spatial data collection applications in ArcGIS Enterprise Portal and/or ArcGIS Online.
- Support the deployment and full lifecycle management of GIS software by assisting with new installations, version upgrades, and patch application to ensure systems remain current and stable.
- Design and develop ESRI based visualization products such as interactive Dashboards and related analytical reports to support the Agency’s operational decision making.
- Support administration of ArcGIS Online and Enterprise Portal user access by assisting with the management of Azure Active Directory accounts, roles, group permissions and user contents.
- Support the development of ETL workflows by building and maintaining data transformation tables using SQL, Python, and/or ArcGIS Data Interoperability tools.
- Provide end user training on GIS applications ensuring users can operate systems effectively and follow established workflows.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and exhibit strong teamwork by collaborating effectively with colleagues, sharing knowledge, and contributing to collective goals.
- Independently conduct GIS research and analysis to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and support effective troubleshooting.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or

2. An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or

3. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or

4. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above.


Preferred Skills

1. Familiarity and demonstrated experience using NYC GIS datasets. 2. Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise Portal and ArcGIS Online. Experience with other GIS software or tools. 3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 4. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines. 5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. 6. Familiarity with web mapping and geospatial data visualization techniques.
