The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of New York City’s children and families by providing child welfare, juvenile justice, and early care services. In child welfare, ACS contracts with private nonprofit organizations to support and stabilize families at risk of a crisis through preventive services and provides foster care services for children not able to safely remain at home. Each year, the agency’s Division of Child Protection responds to more than 50,000 reports of suspected child abuse or neglect. In juvenile justice, ACS manages and funds services including detention and placement, intensive community-based alternatives for youth, and support services for families. ACS is also a key part of NYCs early childhood and education continuum, providing child care assistance to thousands of child welfare involved and low-income children so they can access safe, affordable, quality care.

The Preventive Family Team Conference office provides services designed to strengthen and stabilize families, prevent the need for out of home care, expedite permanency and prevent the replacement of children into foster care. In addition, the division provides policy guidance to Children’s Services’ staff and preventive provider agencies working with children and youth with a variety of educational, medical, mental health and developmental challenges.

The Division of Preventive Services is seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the role of Family Team Conference Scheduler. Under the general supervision of the Manager of Family Team Conferencing, the Family Team Conference Scheduler’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Schedule all Preventive Family Team Conferences
- Pre-screen all conference request to ensure that inter-divisional partners are included in invitations to attend /collaborate in Prevention Family Team conferences
- Troubleshoot intake calls from Provider Agencies related to FTC Scheduling Request Form
- Direct intake calls requiring administrative intervention directly to Manager
- Enter information into FTC excel spreadsheet accurately and timely.
- Respond to requests for information from Provider Contract Agencies.
- Answer inquiries related to the scheduling of all Prevention Family Team Conferences.
- Maintain the schedule of FTC Facilitators to schedule assignments of Preventive Conferences.
- Draft memos, take notes during various meetings and attend FTC Monthly Check-In and other meetings when necessary.
- Enter, research, and retrieve information from various data systems.
- Complete other administrative functions per the request of the DPS leadership, as necessary.


Minimum Qualifications

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
